The Good Defeats The Bad

The nurse came out with some good news & bad news. "Hi, can I see Safaree?" the nurse said. Safaree walked up to the nurse. "Yes, i'm Safaree." the nurse looked up as SB spoke. She flipped the pages on her clipboard. "Onika Maraj?" Sb looked up when she spoke her name. SB began to get sad when she spoke Nicki's name. "Yes, I'm here for Onika Maraj." The nurse looked. She looked up at SB with a smile. SB began to get that happy feeling. "Hi, Im Nurse Janet." she stuck out her hand so she could shake Safaree's hand. He did the same. "Hi, well you know who I am." Safaree said laughing. She laughed as well. "Okay, well hello Safaree. I have some good news & bad news." Safaree's smile left quick once she said "Bad News". Safaree looked back at the family. "Can you start with the bad news?" Safaree asked. The nurse looked at him she never has someone who has asked for the bad news first. "Sure." Safaree looked at her so she can hurry up so he can let his tears out & then smile. "So, the bad news is Onika is under a type of medicine so it can help her breath. Which means Onika can't breath on her own right now." Safaree put his head down. He felt helpless because he couldn't do anything to help her. "Okay, And the good news?" The nurse smiled. Safaree began to smile.  "Okay, good news is Onika is in the ICU she can hear you. She just can't respond. I think she's up. so if you want you can follow me back & go to her room to see her." Safaree looked at the family & shook his head. "Hold on one second" Safaree said as he walked over to the fam. He told them the news. "So, I'm going back to see her." Safaree said. Mama Maraj shook her head. Safaree walked back to the nurse & she began walking. When they reached Nicki's room Safaree broke down crying. "There she is Safaree. Feel free." The nurse said opening the door so Safaree can walk in. He walked in. He saw Nicki awake. He walked over & saw Nicki's face. Safaree smiled seeing her with her big brown eyes. SB began to cry. When he opened his eyes he seen Nicki looking back up at him & she had a tear down her face. He smiled. "Nicki baby. I love you. I know you can't respond but I know what you'll say. I'm always here. I'm just going to sit here. Okay?" Safaree said as he pulled his chair closer to Nicki's bed. She looked at him & smiled. Safaree did the same. Judge Judy was on so you know Nicki was good. Safaree watched with Nicki. He began to hear her heartbeat Thing go down. He looked over at Nicki & she was jumping around. Safaree panicked. He hit the button on her remote for a nurse. When he hit the button a nurse was immediately in there. "Okay, Safaree you have to go." Safaree cried. He looked at the nurse with that "Bitch Please" Look on his face. "NO, I Ain't Leaving." the nurse pushed him out the room. Safaree looked at her like she was crazy. "You know what, don't touch me." Safaree was heated. For one Nicki wasn't good & the nurse had her hands on him. He just left out. He sat in the hospital hallway & slid down to the ground & cried. SB fixed himself & looked through the window. The nurse saw this & walked over to the window & shut the blinds. SB went back out to the waiting room. "So, SB what happened?'' Mama Maraj said. SB told her the news. They all cried. SB went in the bathroom & prayed. "Hey Big Man, I Know I Don't Talk To You Much. But, Im Begging That You Make My Onika Okay! Please, That's All I Ask. Thank You Big man! Amen" Safaree went back out to the waiting room & rested his head in his hands. He sat there and rocked back and forth in the chair.
